Super Powers
Ever since I was a kid, I have wanted some kind of super power. To be invisible, to fly, to stop time, maybe x-ray vision, more recently with the influence of my nephews to spin a spidie web, just something. Today I went with my hubby to visit his grandma. Grandma McCullough is 82, she is beautiful, sweet, stubburn, smart and sharp as a tack ! She has a cute little apartment, filled with photos on the wall, on the desk, side tables and beside the TV. Photographs of her husband, her children when they were small, her grandkids, her great grand babies and more great grand babies, she has ten great grand babies 5 and under so there are many photos of smiling little faces. I am very flattered to say she has a handful of photographs that I have taken. Today we brought her another photograph to add to her collection. I took a family photo of her son's family, 5 kids, their spouses and the ten great grand kids. Grandma looked at that photo for a long time. She studied it and talked about every person in the photo. I listened to her talk and realized in some way I guess i do have a super power. I can freeze time. Not for minutes or days, but I can take a moment in time, an emotion, a feeling, a smile, a tear, a laugh, a look, and I can capture it and give it back to you. I can take that moment when your husband slips your wedding band on your finger and smiles with all his heart and give it back to you. I can take that moment when you have your family all together laughing and capture it for you to remember. I can capture that time when your new baby girl is barely big enough to wrap her little fingers around your finger. I have this power where I can take you back in time and feel that emotion again, remember how little they were, or that look that your husband made your heart melt on the alter. I have that power, that gift to re live that moment.
Sitting on the chair in Grandma's house as we looked at photos, surrounded by all the photos from the many moments in her life it was so nice to see how much she cherished them. When I take photos that is why I do it, to give you those memories that fill your life with joy. Life is way too short to not cherish the loved ones in your life. To see a photo of them on your wall and remember how lucky you were to have them leave a footprint on your heart.

For the love of light
What a weekend !
I went to my first American wedding. Now they do it up a bit different than Canadians do, like having the University football mascot greeting us at the church, which is a new one for my wedding books ! It made for some awesome shots. Mike and Nicole are a stunning couple, well Mike is just lucky that Nicole is stunning enough to cover the both of them ;)
I can make fun because Mike is my husband's cousin, which equals family so I can poke some fun at him.

The church had the most amazing light. It was an old church on the water, it had the most amazing colors inside and out. I was in heaven. The reception was filled with black and red UC colors everywhere ! It was awesome, but nothing was more awesome than Mike's moves on the dance floor. He not only dances, the man entertains.

I have included an array of photographs from the day, it was so hard to choose.......

On a side note.....The best compliment i got from this wedding was from the priest, who didn't even know i was there. Now I can check invisible off my super powers list I got that one covered too!....hahahaaaa

Little Rascals
That is what Uncle Joe calls this photo of the seven of his ten grandkids. The other 3 were just too new to sit on a bench this time, but next time they'll be three more little faces in the photo.
I love this photo, because they aren't all looking at the camera, Each of them are just being them, one of the reasons I love photographing kids. They are who they are and when you have seven all together chances are not everyone will be smiling. That is why as much as most people would have liked a smile out of Miss Charlotte, I thought the mean face was hilarious.

My friend Rebecca refers this super power to being the "child whisperer" .....not one on my list, but I'll take it !

Now if I could only figure out how to spin a web like spider man I would be the coolest aunt ever......wasn't Peter Parker a photographer......it could happen....it is a long shot I know.....but stranger things have happened to me........hahahahaaaaa

Thanks for checking in !!
Michelle

One more.......

Ok, I know I should be in bed, fast asleep, but I just had to add these last two photos from my shoot. Mom wanted one photo of Big Brother Colton with Little Sister Taylor....and this is why I love photographing children, because they do the funniest things.....Colton as innocent as can be covers Taylor's face just because. He had me laughing all afternoon. Oh to be two again, where parking all your Hot Wheel cars on the coffee table is part of your daily job. I love these kids, I can't wait to watch them grow up !!

Hanging with the Neelys

Today I had a great time hanging out with the Neely family. Julie and I are long time friends. I have captured her wedding day, many family photos and today I had the pleasure of capturing not only family photos but the newest addition to the Neely family, baby sister Taylor !! They are such a beautiful and fun family, I can't wait til the summer so we can take some more photos.

Miss Taylor

Miss Taylor is so very sweet, she looks just like her big brother Colton.
She was so good for her photo shoot today, a perfect angel. No tears, eyes wide open and a joy to capture. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them.
I can't wait to go back and take more !

Randall Family

Just the other day, I got an email from a high school friend, Shandelle. I had the pleasure of taking some photos of Shandelle when she was pregnant with her son Cole a few years back. With her due date fast approaching she wanted to get some taken with baby #2. Here are a few photos from our session. Cole is the cutest little man and will be a great big brother very soon.

Baby Olyvia

It's a Girl !

On May 8th long time friends of ours had a beautiful baby girl. We had a chance to visit her yesterday and of course I brought along my camera !
Uncle Andrew was hard at work last night editing photos to show off Shannon & Jay's pride & joy. Olyvia is pure perfection and I can't wait to take many many photos of her as she grows up !

Cheers,
Michelle

Leanne & Mike

A beautiful bride and a cute fireman lead to a very romantic combination. It was like a fairy tale, Leanne and Mike's wedding was amazing, full of love, romance and lots of firemen.......hahahaa Mike's crew brought along a fire truck to the reception which made for a very happy photographer and some incredible photos. Here are just a few of that very special day.
Cheers
